Arizonans Strongly Support Traditional Childhood Vaccines
New polling reveals that a clear majority of Arizona’s voters continue to support routine childhood immunizations and want politicians to protect our health.
PHOENIX, AZ, January 15, 2026— A new statewide survey reveals that more than four out of five Arizona voters across the political spectrum support traditional childhood vaccines including polio, measles, and hepatitis. A poll conducted by NextGen America Polling for Arizona Families for Vaccines reveals the following:
83% of all respondents support traditional childhood vaccines, with 97% of Democrats, 88% of Independents, and 68% of Republicans expressing support.
88% of respondents report confidence that traditional vaccines are safe, constituting 77% of Republicans, 92% of Independents, and 97% of Democrats.
90% of all respondents say that the most important reason to get vaccinated is to prevent serious disease and death.
Only 11% of all respondents said they do not support traditional vaccines.
78% of respondents believe it is the responsibility of elected officials to protect public health, and nearly three in four say they would be less likely to support a candidate who wants to eliminate all of Arizona’s school vaccine recommendations.
Why This Matters
High vaccine rates are necessary to achieve community immunity and protect the young, elderly, and immunocompromised individuals, who cannot get vaccinated themselves. Seventy percent of voters agreed that individuals who are not vaccinated put others at risk. The survey also showed wide awareness and support for school vaccine recommendations. About 72% of respondents were aware that Arizona schools require traditional vaccines but allow exemptions, and 77% support these vaccine recommendations for students. At a time when school vaccine recommendations are becoming politicized in America, it is crucial to recognize the majority of Arizonans want disease-free schools.
The statewide poll surveyed 2,725 likely voters between December 15- 17.
What People Are Saying
“This poll clearly shows that Arizona voters overwhelmingly support routine childhood vaccines. Across political divides, voters agree that vaccines are safe and effective at preventing serious disease and death.
I hope Arizona legislators take this information seriously this session and stop proposing and passing anti-vaccine legislation rooted in misinformation. Instead, they should return vaccines to their nonpartisan roots and focus on meaningful solutions that support our medical community and improve access to—and confidence in—vaccines for their constituents.”
—Ashley Chambers, Director of Arizona Families for Vaccines
“The polling data is clear: voters strongly support vaccines and also support legislators who advocate for them. This support cuts across party lines, making vaccine policy a clear bipartisan issue. Given the broad consensus among voters, it should not be a point of contention for representatives of either party, but rather an area where policymakers can work together in the interest of public health.”
